Cedars Care Centre provides specialist care and nursing care to adults over 18, with 24-hour assistance, a welcoming, friendly environment and a dedicated team of fantastic colleagues who are committed to delivering tailored, respectful care to every resident.
Our care centre is situated in Barnet, in a quiet, relaxing setting that is easily accessible from Hertfordshire and London, based in a large, detached period property. We specialise in Dementia care but offer a full range of care assistance, including palliative care, postoperative and respite care, as well as long-term nursing care.
Residents joining us at Cedars for any length of stay are provided with private, comfortable accommodation, with 35 single suites and five companion rooms for couples, all equipped as standard with bathroom facilities.
As a true home-feel care home, we accommodate cats, smaller dogs and visiting pets, acknowledging the positive impact that animal interactions make and ensuring residents with beloved pets do not need to leave them behind.
Every resident is welcome to furnish their space with personal furniture and belongings to make the room familiar and reassuring. Our accommodation is designed with tranquillity in mind, offset by bright and pleasant communal areas such as day rooms overlooking the landscaped gardens and our lounge where we host entertainers, enjoy an afternoon tea or watch a movie together.
During warmer weather, we throw open the French doors to our outdoor terrace, inviting residents to enjoy the fresh air and patio space within a safe, easy-access environment.
Remaining mentally and physically active is an important aspect of life at Cedars Care Centre, and we take great care to get to know every resident, establishing a routine and a thorough understanding of their favourite hobbies, pastimes and preferences.
Popular activities include garden parties, BBQs and arts and crafts sessions, with our raised veg patch a great resource for keen gardeners who wish to grow their own. We regularly accompany residents on cinema trips, organise manicures and beauty treatments, or screen sports matches and events.
The local community is vibrant and diverse, with options such as a day trip to the local park, a short distance away, or a little retail therapy visiting the independent shops dotted along the high street.
Our catering team provides delicious, high-quality meals with a focus on nutrition, dietary needs, texture and taste to ensure meal times are a pleasure, using ingredients and dishes that are ideal for health and well-being.
We respect all religions, faiths and beliefs, and alongside weekly and monthly services, we are always happy to ensure meals and ingredients are consistent with requirements.
Prospective residents, families and loved ones are invited to visit Cedars Care Centre to learn more about the exceptional care we provide.

Having spent six years visiting my mum at Cedars I have to say how very lucky we have been. From the management, nurses, carers and domestic staff, Cedars excels in everything they do. The service and care is a very high standard. This is not just a nursing home, it's a family home with lots of love.
All the staff at Cedars Care Centre are amazing. From their manager all the way down, each and every level. They are always so kind and supportive. They treat my father with respect and dignity. All the staff are beyond professional.
The Cedars Care Centre is a most caring home. The staff are wonderful, patient, friendly and professional. Nothing is too much trouble. The meals are tasty and wholesome. The standard of hygiene is excellent.
I can't praise the staff highly enough. The care and love they show my mother is outstanding. Everyone is so kind and the home so welcoming at all times.
The transition while moving into a nursing home is a significant change, and we adopt a full, thorough and compassionate assessment process led by our multi-skilled team to verify that our centre is the best option for each resident and to ascertain whether our facilities and nursing care are suited to the individual’s needs.
We commonly support residents and families before their moving-in day to help make everything smooth and stress-free, with a warm introduction to their new accommodation and the team that will provide their care.
Pathways to Cedars are varied but can include a visit to our centre, a referral made directly or via a health professional, and discussions around funding and assistance.
If you are considering Cedars Care Centre, we encourage you to visit us in person to get a feel for the kindness and relationships our wonderful nursing team and care staff foster with our residents, having built a superb reputation we are extremely proud of.
Cedars often has a waiting list, and we advise you to get in touch as soon as you can if you wish to register an interest. Visits are possible at any time, although we recommend giving us a call beforehand to ensure a manager or administrator is on hand to provide a guided tour.
We provide a varied activity programme and seasonal events calendar, adapting all activities to help residents get involved, engage with creative hobbies and participate in social days. Many residents enjoy catching up on new TV series, watching classic movies, taking part in quiz afternoons or taking a visit to the local cinema to see the latest releases.
Our focus is on personalised support to help our residents make the most of every day, however they may wish to spend it. Popular activities include:
Summer garden parties and BBQs served on the terrace during the summer make the most of mild weather, and all our residents can join in at their discretion.
Cedars Care Centre has an active residents association, which new residents are welcome to join, helping us continually add new activities, themed events and ideas, where we endeavour to adjust events to cater to all tastes or introduce new crafts or performances.
Here at Cedars, we also organise religious observance services to ensure everybody has the opportunity to practise their faith, whether in-person or participating in online services as part of a congregation.
Our care home provides around-the-clock nursing care with an accomplished team of registered nurses and care assistants complemented by visiting therapists. We try to cater to all personal preferences around the gender of the caregiver where possible.
Cedars staff are fully screened and referenced for peace of mind, with an excellent training programme to ensure our care and nursing care are of the highest quality.
Care services are comprehensive and include the following:
We promote independence and ensure every resident is empowered to speak up, communicate their wishes, and make autonomous choices about their care while providing sensitive and professional assistance.
Our care home facilities are extensive, with a beauty salon and barber, wide-screen TV, quiet reading nooks, a secure outdoor patio, and a large library of books, DVDs and computer games.
As a specialist Dementia care nursing centre, we also offer continuing and end-of-life care, emergency admissions, postoperative care, crisis interventions and a full suite of visiting practitioners from a dentist, optician and occupational therapist to physiotherapists and chiropodists.
