Welcome to The Grange Care Centre in Farringdon. Situated in the tranquil village of Stanford in the Vale, our charming home offers 24-hour nursing care for adults, on a long-term basis or for short-term respite care. We are blessed with a long-serving team of nursing and support staff that provide high-quality, person-centred care within our homely environment.

The Grange comprises 40 single bedrooms and 4 companion rooms for couples wishing to share. Most of the bedrooms are equipped with an en-suite W.C. and a hand basin. We encourage residents to furnish their new surroundings with familiar pieces of furniture and personal possessions to make them feel truly at home. While our bedrooms provide a tranquil area to rest and relax, our light and airy communal day rooms offer residents the opportunity to catch up with friends over a pot of tea, enjoy one of our guest entertainers or simply recline in front of their favourite films.

At The Grange, we encourage residents to take part in a range of engaging activities based on their lifestyle needs and preferences. Many of our activities take place within the home environment and include garden parties, barbecues, arts/crafts and quiz nights. We empower individuals to enjoy those everyday routines they cherish, whether that’s having a salon blow-dry and manicure or keeping up to date with their favourite football team. As well as being encouraged to enjoy our landscaped gardens, residents also enjoy regular days out and seasonal trips further afield.

Our professional catering team deliver nutritionally balanced meals that are appealing for our residents. Our professional food suppliers specialise in delivering high-quality food designed specifically for the healthcare sector.

Our staff often work with the resident prior to admission, to ensure that all care needs are thoroughly understood to enable a seamless transfer.

Nothing we can say on this website can convey the understanding, warmth and care that our staff have for our residents. Our reputation is one we are very proud of and as rooms are in very short supply we often have to operate a waiting list. It is best if you meet with us at your earliest opportunity to register your interest. Please visit The Grange at any time, however as we are a busy centre it’s best to telephone and arrange a visit with our manager or a member of our team, who will show you around.

An individual lifestyle is essential, no matter how old or how dependent we are, so our staff ensure lifestyle choices are maintained. Our residents enjoy visiting local shops, an evening at the cinema, a quiz afternoon, or simply watching television in the privacy of their bedroom.

It’s vital our residents keep active mentally and physically to make the most of every day.

At The Grange residents are spoilt for choice with art workshops, flower arranging, handicrafts, games & quizzes, parties, shopping, visiting speakers, live performances, musical evenings, gardening, computer games & internet, residents’ association as well as religious observance services. In the summer we have garden tea parties and barbecues and meals can be taken on the terrace. Making new friends is easy at The Grange and everyone has the opportunity to join in.

The Grange provide 24-hour nursing care, delivered by highly trained registered nurses, care assistants and our visiting therapies team. Where possible, residents have the choice of gender for their care. Our staff are carefully screened with extensive referencing and police criminal record checks and receive professional training. We believe highly trained and well managed staff are the secret to providing quality and safe care.

I am fortunate to have had The Grange in my life for over 35 years, it has been a constant delight and source of great comfort and support to me and my family over the years. I am extremely passionate about The Grange and consider myself lucky to be employed to do something I love so much. I always put our residents first and will never let The Grange down.
