Forest Healthcare has been caring for people for over 30 years, and today we’re a family of 13 homes across London, the Home Counties and East Anglia. Everything we do is shaped by a clear vision of what we want to be, a mission that sets out how we get there, and five core values that guide our teams in every home, every day.

Our Proud History

Forest Healthcare was founded in 1994 by Efi Hershkovitz, and in 1999 opened its first home, Ash Court, a 62-bed purpose-built nursing home in Camden.

Two more purpose-built London homes followed, Bridgeside Lodge in 2003 and Forest Care Village in 2004, taking the group to 304 registered beds. At the end of 2007, Forest Healthcare grew further with nine residential and nursing homes across the Home Counties, Kent and East Anglia, adding 457 beds.

In December 2014, St Anne’s, a 65-bed nursing home in Islington, joined the group, bringing Forest Healthcare to 13 homes and 826 registered beds.

Today, more than 950 team members look after over 700 residents across London, the Home Counties and East Anglia. Our homes provide nursing, residential, dementia and respite care, along with care after a hospital stay and palliative and end of life care. Several of our homes also support younger adults living with neurological conditions, spinal injuries and acquired brain injuries, and people recovering after a stroke.

Each home is led by an experienced home manager, supported by our operations team, many of whom were home managers themselves. We give our managers the freedom to run their homes around the people who live there and the communities they belong to, so that every resident and family can count on safety, quality, dignity and choice.
