Forest Healthcare was founded in 1994 by Efi Hershkovitz and in 1999 opened its first home, Ash Court Care Centre, a 62-bed purpose-built nursing home in the London Borough of Camden. Two more purpose-built homes in the London area, Bridgeside Lodge Care Centre and Forest Care Village, were added to the portfolio in 2003 and 2004 respectively, bringing the total of registered beds for the Group by the end of 2007 to 304.
At the end of 2007, Forest Healthcare expanded the portfolio through the acquisition of nine residential and nursing homes, comprising 457 registered beds, in the South East of England.
In December 2014 Forest Healthcare added St Anne’s Care Centre, a 65-bed nursing home in the London Borough of Islington, increasing its total registered bed capacity to 826 in 13 care home settings.
At Forest Healthcare our vision is to transform the perception and experience of care from something driven out of necessity to something that represents a positive choice for improved quality of life.
Since opening our first home in 1994 we have grown and now employ over 1000 highly skilled workers whose primary role is to provide residents and families with the very best person-centred care available.
In addition to providing high quality 24-hour residential nursing care, we offer respite, postoperative care and crisis intervention services. Several of our facilities cater to younger residents aged 18 and above, including those suffering from neurological and spinal conditions. Other facilities offer more specialist care for conditions such as Parkinson’s disease, Huntington’s disease, MS, brain injuries, stroke rehabilitation and challenging behaviour.
Our Centre Managers are all vastly experienced and have proven track records in the care industry. They are supported by a dedicated Operational Care Team, many of whom were former Centre Managers themselves.
Our primary objective is to improve the quality of life of the people we care for. We seek to promote independence, choice and dignity of the individual. We believe that people must be safe and secure at all times, whilst providing a relaxed and stimulating environment that motivates them to live a full and happy life.
We believe our success and strength lie in empowering our managers to promote the independence of their care centres to service the local community’s needs and to provide residents and families with security, quality, dignity and choice and the very best care that is available in the UK.
